Tea and tarts.



I made these mini fig and chocolate tarts with the leftover pastry from making some samosa pies. The pastry was pre-made vegan short crust pastry and I couldn't bring myself to throw it out. When I was a little girl, I would help my Nana bake pies and with the remaining pastry, she would help me make a tart all my very own. The inspiration for these mini tarts comes from my Nana.
All I did was roll the pastry into a rather thick log, and cut it so each slice was about half a centimetre thick. I then topped it with some homemade fig jam and vegan chocolate. These went into the oven at about 190*C for about twenty minutes until they were nice and golden. When i was little I used to top it with store bought strawberry jam and it was just as tasty. Enjoy with a nice cup of tea and share with the people you love.
